Church Renovations Update
On Nov. 3, there was a general informational meeting regarding repairs/ renovations to the Sanctuary. This meeting was designed to inform the congregation prior to the vote on Nov 10th. Repairs to the sanctuary, especially the updating of the electrical portion of the renovations are higher than originally anticipated earlier in the summers. The building committee provided a general overview of the suggested projects with more up to date cost.
On Nov 10th, the congregation voted to proceed with the sanctuary updates and voted on the financial support of the renovations. If you wish to contribute to the renovations, please contact Troy or Donna.
During the week of November 25th, renovations began with the washing of the sanctuary roof and removal of the gutters.
On Sunday, December 29th,following a brief worship service, the congregation will begin clearing the sanctuary in preparation of interior renovations. All extra hands are appreciated in the process of removing much of the furnishings from the sanctuary to the parish hall. Worship services will be held in the Parish Hall during the interior renovations.
Oct 27 - We Celebrated our 140th Year!
We celebrate our church’s 140th anniversary with many, many of our longtime friends and neighbors! Through scripture readings, church history, and music, we praised the Good Lord for these many years. Following worship, we all gather for a delicious meal with yummy desserts while watching a powerpoint of the congregations of Greenvine, past and presents. Thank you to all who made this celebration a success!

Blessing Box
A Blessing Box has been placed outside the White Horse Tavern in Burton. The purpose of the box is to provide anyone in need with food. The food might provide some relief so that utilities bills or rent can be paid! Summer is a particular hard time for kids since many rely on daily meals provided through the schools. Consider donating easy to open items for children, dried goods, or canned goods, or easy to prepare items that can survive the summer heat for the Blessing Box.
These items can be placed in the narthex of the church or directly in the Blessing Box.
Christ in Our Home
Daily devotions are available in the church’s narthex.
Get your copy and take it home!
August 4th Update on Repairs
Council has received the quote of for updating the church, and it is substantially higher (about double the cost) than what was first estimated by the committee. Much of the increase is related to electrical upgrades. The church is considered a commercial building and therefore must conform to the more rigorous commercial electrical standards. The building committee will be meeting to discuss and make recommendations to the Council. Council has decided to postpone any renovations until after the Oct 27th anniversaru.
